The club, which was formed five years ago and last season won the Lincolnshire league and cup double, currently has about 20 members aged between 14 and 60 and meets once a week to train and play.

At the beginning, the club focused on its junior team, a side that has now progressed to become a full adult squad. Sleaford Volleyball Club is now looking to form a new junior side to continue the competitive success of the club.

The club has been awarded £500 by the MARS Refuel Fund and head coach Alan Terry said: "Our mission is to provide a club that is accessible to all, both young and old, providing a safe and friendly atmosphere for novice and veteran players alike, with the chance to play competitively for players of any ability.

"The donation from the MARS Refuel Fund means we are able to invest in time and equipment to train and develop a new junior side."
