TRAFFIC disruption is expected for the next six weeks while roadworks are carried out on a Sleaford street.
Central Networks is to carry out improvement works on the electrical cables to the Westbanks area of Sleaford. Work will begin on Monday.

Alan Bycraft, project manager with Central Networks, said: "This work is vital in order to improve the reliab
ility of the electricity supply. We're carrying out the work during the school holidays to hopefully minimise disruption for road users.

"We apologise for this inconvenience, but I can assure local people that we're doing everything we can to minimise disruption, including bringing in a specialist traffic management contractor and working very closely with the police and local highways authority."

Warning boards will be put up and local homes and businesses will be contacted.

While work is carried out, Westbanks residents have been offered use of Sainsbury's car park.

Westbanks will have a temporary one-way order while works take place between castle Causeway and Southgate shopping centre off Watergate. The one-way system will allow vehicles into the town (west to east) for the first four weeks, with two-way traffic continuing between Sainsbury's and Southgate.

For the final two weeks, Westbanks will return to two-way flow with the section between Southgate and Sainsbury's being one-way (east to west).
