EDITOR-I would like to comment on the front page story in the Sleaford Standard of April 30, headed 'You Win'.
I really don't think that many Sleaford residents will quite see it as winning. However, I do feel that the residents of Sleaford and the surrounding area will totally agree and support the removal of the Sleaford Market Place traffic lights, which have caused a large amount of traffic congestion over a considerable number of weeks.

And there is also the issue of all the inconvenience caused to people trying to shop in the town.

I would certainly like to question the overall cost of the installation and removal of the lights, now totalling up to around £90,000 and all at taxpayers' expense.

Whilst the majority of pensioners and people on fixed incomes are trying to cope with paying for their homes, high gas and electricity prices and large increases in council tax due to the Police Authority, the £90,000 of wasted expenditure does fly in the face of public opinion.
