EDITOR-With all the arguments about traffic problems in Sleaford and the ridiculous traffic light saga, why don't we simply have the pedestrian crossing re-established with the traditional belisha beacons - giving pedestrians right of way once on the crossing but allowing traffic to flow immediately when clear?

So simple an idea and it's worked for generations - and still operates in Cranwell.

Simple but effective, just paint some black and white stripes and connect up the belisha beacons to the now defunct traffic lights and the problem is solved, with a safe crossing for pedestrians but no additional traffic delays.
