Vi Hill of the organising committee thanked everyone who contributed to the event or supported it in any way.

She also expressed further thanks to all those who generously donated to the Sleaford Live fund towards its expenses.

Mrs Hill said: "It made the event worth doing. There were dozens of willing hands and hard working people showing enthusiasm and support, which helped to make the event so successful."

The Sleaford Ukulele Orchestra made their contribution to the Sleaford LIVE festival aboard the monthly music train from Sleaford to Bateman's Brewery at Wainfleet and back.

Community Rail Partnership manager Chris Watson said: "The music train was fantastic - thanks to everyone for making it a great night out.

"The next music train will be on Thursday, June 26. If anybody wants to busk on the train please get in touch."

Two rock bands from Sleaford's French twin town Marquette lez Lille, Evasion and Doubl'age, played at three different venues, including to a capacity crowd at Ewerby Reading Room and with Sleaford Concert Band at the Mayor's Charity Concert in St Denys' Church. There was also a festival of eight local school choirs on Saturday for the mayor's charities.

The Rhythm Express Show at St George's College was a big success and at Sleaford Cricket Club rock band Nightvision were joined by a group made up of local musicians called The House Band.

Other events in the Sleaford LIVE programme included an evening by acoustic performers at the White Hart Hotel on Friday, where Dan Mayfield of Sleaford sang solo spots as well as playing with brother Jacob and his singing partner Victoria Harrison.
