Pupils become pop stars by recording a charity CD

SCHOOLCHILDREN had a taste of life as pop stars when they recorded a CD of songs.
Church Lane Primary School, Sleaford, invited School Recording Stars, a music recording company from Burnley, to set up a studio in the school hall to tape pupils' performances.
The school's music coordinator Kate Hodge arranged for the session to record 15 pieces by a variety of sources, including the school's handbell ringers, choirs, nursery class and staff.
She said: "It was really good fun. The children were really into it and everyone took part. I think they thought they were going to be on radio or television."
They have run a competition for pupils to design the front cover and the CD, due to be completed by the end of this week, will be sold to raise funds for the school. The school is taking orders for copies of the CD now.
