LINCOLNSHIRE Police will be throwing open the doors of their headquarters to the public for their third annual open day.
The event will be held in and around police headquarters in Deepdale Lane, Nettleham from 11am to 4pm on Sunday.

The force is inviting everyone to a free day out with the promise of loads to do for all the family.

Conducted tours of the force c
ommunications and control centre and the chance to have a skid pan experience will be available throughout the day, although numbers will be restricted by timed vouchers which can be collected at the reception desk in the main marquee on the day.

In the grounds, the force underwater search unit will be demonstrating their operations using the lake and in the main ring the police dogs will be put through their paces with other events, including a marching display by the Volunteer Police Cadets, the RAF Waddington Pipe Band and a demonstration by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.

There will be a recruiting stand with staff on hand to advise on careers as regular police officers, PCSOs, Special Constables or support staff. Control and restraint techniques will be demonstrated as well as the way incapacitant spray is used to disarm violent suspects. Advice on firearms licensing, crime reduction and prevention will also be available.

Anyone wanting to try their hand at solving a crime should visit the forensics display.
