MUSIC lovers in the south of the county will again this weekend have the opportunity to enjoy the delights of the Lincoln and Lincolnshire International Chamber Music Festival with events taking place on Saturday in Brant Broughton, Grimsthorpe Castle (near Bourne) and
Tattershall.

Ashley Wass, concert pianist and the festival's artistic director, has over the three weekends of the festival, from August 22 to September 7, brought a wealth of internationally renowned musicians to the county who have enchanted enthusiastic audiences wherever they have performed.

This year's festival has the theme Home and Abroad. Most concerts this feature at least one substantial work by a British composer along with pieces by international composers who proved to be of significant influence, demonstrating the development of some of our finest homegrown composers.

This year's theme has also expanded into alternative genres with jazz, folk music, choral music and brass bands all playing significant roles.

This Saturday, September 6, at 11.30am in St Helen's Church, Brant Broughton, you can hear pianist Anahit Chaushian and saxophonist Amy Dickson perform a programme comprising Fantaisie sur un theme original by Demersseman, Scaramouche by Milhaud, Vocalise by Rachmaninov, Three Preludes by Gershwin, Kiss On Wood by MacMillan and Pequena Czarda by Iturralde.

Tickets are £10, concessions £9 available from the Lincoln Drill Hall box office (Tel: 01522 873894), email: boxoffice@lincolndrillhall.com .
